Moving Day- February 26 2005

Moving day was bright and sunny and dry... NOT! It was rainy and chilly. How dare it be raining on moving day! and on my birthday!

a shot inside the huge 24 foot uhaul. the first uhaul they gave us had a dead battery. lovely. i drove this behemoth when it was empty from the uhaul place to jason's, but then he drove it when there was stuff in it. thank goodness. i thought i was going to take out a few cars turning from guadalupe onto 41st.
Jim woke up, found a car and came over to help.
calla was not happy about being trapped in the bedroom while we removed everything from the house.
yeah, there is still stuff in the kitchen. but not that much stuff!
jenn, jim and jason ready to start unloading.
they insisted that i had to be in a picture too.
the king bed made the uhaul look much fuller than it actually was.

jason and jim trying to figure out how to get it out and down the tiny ramp.
the ramp was so high at the top that we all had to duck so we didn't hit our heads (prompting calls of 'watch your head!' all afternoon) and it was slippery and getting rained on. jason put the towel up so that the drops would sort of be redirected.
yes, it is a big truck.
but jason can handle it.

jenn hung out and cooked us some dinner on our grill (robby had the flu and couldn't come help us- hmm, convenient).
this is how we all felt after the moving.
calla in her new dog run. she really, um, loves it.
i tried to show her it wasn't so bad.
but mainly i just got her all freaked out and then she jumped into my face and smashed her teeth into mine. it hurt. but it was still pretty funny.
see, it's nice in there!
jenn made delicious ribs.
jason looks slightly delirious.
jenn looks mischevious.
jason getting happy birthday wishes the next morning.
the computer/music room.
the 3rd bedroom (use to be determined.) that's jenn's car in her carport next door.
the toilets were NASTY!
the dining room/kitchen view
calla at the back door sunday night
calla fiercely guarding her new home
jason putting together his desk.
we accomplished little on sunday.
3rd bedroom again.
our bedroom with the nice, soft, snuggly king sized bed. yay! saturday night the only thing that got done was that this bed was totally set up. i couldn't find jason anywhere for like 45 minutes and it was because he immediately starting putting this together. priorities.
see how big the rooms are?
after we unloaded all the boxes of my crap that had been in jenn's xterra overnight.
the living room arrangement has to be determined as well.
more evidence of mess
at least i finally found the shower curtain!
