Paint!- August 5-6th, 2006
After Marc got his
paintings up, I was inspired to get my office painted so that
I could hang mine up too!
Paint for the office is purchased! Saturday was paint selection and taping and removing outlets day.
Paint for the front door is purchased! (by the way, why the heck
did they give me INTERIOR paint? argh.)
And painting begins at 8:30am on Sunday!!
One coat on the front door! Painting a metal door sucks, btw! I might
recommend having a professional come spray it.
Calla was not please at having to stay behind the baby gate all day while I was painting.
See how horrible this looks? I think I'm going to end up having to do four coats
to get it non-streaky. Two coats to go next weekend!
Edges done for China Blue.
China Blue walls with one coat.
And two coats.
Where China Blue (left) and Raging Rapids (right) almost meet.
You can barely tell that the colors are even different but I was afraid the China Blue
all by itself would make the room seem smaller. I have to wait until next weekend to tape
the China Blue walls so that I can do the rest of the other color on the edges.
Raging Rapids!

The blue painter's tape is barely distinguishable from the walls here. My camera
didn't do a great job of capturing the colors.
Only two tiny drops of paint on the carpet when I was done! Yay!
I love the way the blue makes the white pop.
A flashless picture so you can see better that the colors are different
I just thought this looked pretty.
The view from the floor.
The door looks streak-free in the dark! (see tree in front yard that mysteriously
turned brown in a day. argh.)
From the front walk.
You can still see streaks after coat two. Hopefully it will look nicer next weekend.
And that little section at the bottom only has one coat because I realized that the kick plate is going to
cover it :)
